Infertility Therapy

Infertility Therapy

Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive even after one year of regular unprotected intercourse. The chance of conceiving depends upon the length of the sexual exposure, the frequency of intercourse and couple’s age. The normal young aged couples have a high chance of conceiving after one month of unprotected sex. There are two types of infertilities, primary and secondary. Primary infertility is a delay in conceiving for a couple who had no previous pregnancies and secondary infertility is a delay for a couple who had conceived previously but the pregnancy wasn’t successful, example miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancy is a condition in which embryo attaches outside the uterus. Mostly there is three major cause of infertility and those are male infertility, ovulatory dysfunction, tubal- peritoneal disease.   Both males and females are responsible and most of the infertile couple have one of the three major cause....

Causes of female infertility

1. Defective Ovulation

It is a condition that occurs before the period starts and after the ovaries releases an egg. Normally at this time the lining of the uterus gets thicker and prepares for the pregnancy. But during the defect, the lining doesn’t grow properly. There are many reasons that can lead to the defective ovulation such as endocrine disorders, physical disorder, ovarian disorder etc.. Some of the physical disorders include obesity, diabetes, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, thyroid etc..

2. Defective Transportation

In women, infertility arises mainly with the problem in the fallopian tube or uterus. Infertility arises due to the blockage of the fallopian tube. It plays an important role in conceiving. It enables the passage of egg cells from the ovaries and to the uterus. When the egg is developed in the ovary, it is encapsulated in the ovarian follicle. This is when fallopian tube helps the egg out. Fallopian tube collects and transports the egg.

Other common causes of infertility in female includes

Low semen quality is the most possible reason for infertility in men. It can be caused by low sperm count due to endocrine problems, infections, drug etc.. Presence of endocrine disorder such as diabetes, hypertension etc. can lead to the formation of faulty sperms that are incapable to fertilize the ovum.

2. Erectile dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is another form of infertility in men. It is also known as impotence and it is a condition in which men are incapable of keeping or getting an erection for a longer duration during sexual activity.
